    • Joyce attended schools in Greeley, CO from Sept. 1941 to graduation June, 1954. She worked in a drugstore for a couple years and then worked as secretary for a Realty Company and later worked in central supply of the Weld County General Hospital (1958). Gene served in the Navy, and served on the USS Bausell, went to Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Midway and other Pacific Islands. He attained the rating of Boiler Tender 2nd Class, and received a National Defense service medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a trucker for a few years, and later worked at the "packing plant" in Greeley, Colorado for 4 years. He had back surgery in 1956, and again worked as a trucker, buying his own truck in 1972. (Doty)
