- Thomas was leiutenant, captain and colonel in the French and Indian wars. Thomas Doty of Truro, cooper, sold house and land in Plymouth that belonged to his father. Thomas Doty of Truro sold land which had belonged to his grandather, William Harlos, and in the same year thomas Doty of Cape Cod bought the house in Plymouth formerly owned by his father. Thomas doty of Provincetown, seafaring man, sold property in Middleboro. At the close of the war Colonel Doty returned to Plymouth and in 1759 bought the cooper shop and warehouse of Perez Tillson, son-in-law. Thomas was a resident of Boston. Thomas opened the Doty Tavern at Stoughton where the founders of the Republic drafted the Declaration of Independence on 16 Aug 1774. Thomas sold land in Middleboro.
