    • She was from Barnstable, MA. Amaziah Doty was the first of his branch of the family to emigrate from the coast to the interior, and in so doing commenced to write his name DOTY, which spelling he afterward kept and his descendants have retained, though all his brothers and their families are called DOTEN. They removed soon after their marriage to Lee, MA, where they lived for 15 years, then to Bennington, VT, where they lived for nearly as long. They were for a short time at Granville, Washington Co., NY, then removed to Lincklaen, Chenango Co., NY, and about 1813, to Cazenovia, NY. (Doty)
