  • Notes
    • After his father, Silas, moved to Joplin, MO in 1903, Thomas also moved his family to Joplin. He was a carpenter all his life, but enjoyed farming. After retiring, he bought a small farm, raised grapes and made his own wine. At one time in his life he was a member of the Stony Point School Board and was a constable for Jasper county, MO. The biggest tragedy in their lives was when Thomas and tina lost two of their grown children just ten days apart, in separate accidents in Dec. of 1925. Edith, age 24 years, was struck and killed by a car in Lawrence, KS. Then ten days later Earl, age 26 years, fell on ice and died from a head injury in Joplin, MO.
