She was from McComb, Ohio. Harvey Walter Doty was a graduate of Levanon University and devoted the early part of his educational career to the improvement of the school system of north western Ohio. He founded the village high school at McComb, Ohio. He then became interested in the study of law, was admitted to the bar, and began the practice of law at Findlay, Ohio. He was twice elected state senator to the Ohio legislature. He then removed to Chatanooga, Tennessee, where he passed the bar. He resided in Chatannoga 14 years. There he met with an auto accident which cost him several years of suffering and from which he died. He is buried in Chatanooga. (Doty)
