    • He was certainly of age l7 Feb l667 when he and his brother John sold their Dartmouth lands to John Smith (Plymouth Colony LR 3:l98). On l7 Jan l67l/2 Mary Churchill confessed to the Court that she was begotten with child by Thomas Doty (PCR 5:83). On 30 Oct l672 Mary Churchill sued Thomas Doty "having begotten her with child, is departed the government." She was awarded all his possessions, mainly one-third of a boat. (PCR 7:l73-4) Thomas Doty returned to Plymouth Colony around l673.
