    • Robert Wilson Doty attended the public schools in Mifflintown, PA, and after graduation attended a private academy in Lewiston, PA for 4 years. He was then engaged with his father in the banking business in Mifflintown for about 10 years. In 1918, he was assistant to the General Auditor of the United States Housing Corporation located in Washington, DC. In 1919, he was appointed an assistant national bank examiner, and served in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. In 1921, he was commissioned a national bank examiner with headquarters in Harrisburg, PA. In 1924, he was commissioned a senior state bank examiner for the Dept. of Banking of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In 1925, he was appointed Chief Examiner with headquarters in PA. In 1931, he was appoinred First Deputy Secretary of Banking by Gov. Pinchot. In 1935, he was appointed 2nd Deputy Secretary by Gov. Earle, and on Jan 17, 1939 was appointed Secretary of Banking of the Commonwealth of PA by Gov. James. He resigned on October 11, 1939, and on the same date was appointed 1st Deputy Secretary of Banking. He lived in Philadelphia from 1926 to 1931, and in Harrisburg from 1931 to (at least) 1939. He did not own any real estate at that time.
